問題

所見

（a）S + have difficulty (in) doing
（b）S + have trouble (in) doing
（c）S + have a hard [difficult] time (in) doing

①（a）～（c）について、inは通常省略されます。

②（a）のdifficulty,（b）のtroubleは無冠詞となります。ただし、「…するのに大いに苦労する」なら have a lot of difficulty [trouble], 「…するのに苦労しない」なら have no diffuculty [trouble]；do(es) not have any difficulty [trouble] のようにします。

今回の問題で使う表現

1. 「ビザを取得する」　get a visa（ここでは文脈から「あなたのビザ」となります）
2. 全体は、（1）so ～ that ... ； （2）Because [Since] S' + V', S + V. のどちらの形式でも書けます。
   「彼が何を言いたいのか」　what he wants to say（これをunderstandの目的語にします）

所感

今回の「…するのに苦労する」は、個人的には”見ればわかるけど書けない”タイプの英語でしたので、今回取り上げて、勉強になりました。特に、（c）のタイプは「大変な時間を過ごす」みたいな回りくどい理解をしていたので、ちゃんとスマートに読めて（訳せて）書ける（ライティング）ようにしておきたいと思います。
